The company founded by Mani Thawani is reportedly experiencing financial problems after the grotesque Metaverse Day event that took place at the WiZink Center at the end of August turned into a failure. The event that hosted 7,000 people was intended to support the launch of Mundo Crypto own token, MCT. However, Spanish regulator, the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) issued a warning to Mundo Crypto and its sponsors, reminding them they were “not licensed to advise on financial instruments or broker investment transactions.” There are rumors also that the company has lost since then the support of another blockchain project, Waves, run by Sasha Ivanov.
Sandra Gonzalez, the director of Partnership and Business Opportunities at Mundo Crypto, denied the rumors of financial troubles and confirmed only a workforce reduction of around 5%.
