In October 2022, Aave showed users a technical document, as well as the first stablecoin audit from Open Zeppelin. Initially, it was planned that the Aave V2 stablecoin would appear on Ethereum, however, in a recent interview for The Defiant Aave founder, Stani Kuchelov, said that plans had changed slightly. If the community approves, the stablecoin will be launched on the newly opened Aave V3.

“It’s battle-tested. V3 is pretty much (an evolution of the previous version ) state of the art liquidity protocol.” - said Kuchelov.

According to Kuchelov, the advantages of Aave V3 will allow GHO to be more stable, meaning less risk of losing its peg.

In an interview, Aave founder also said that the stablecoin would be released a few weeks after the interview, which was published on January 25, 2023.
